III-V Epi Ltd, the fast turnaround manufacturer of low to medium volume III-V epitaxial structures, had a successful SPIE Photonics West, in January, exhibiting as part of the UK Pavillion. Photonics West is the world’s leading forum for optics and photonics technology and solutions, attracting visitors from around the world. III-V Epi’s in-depth knowledge of MBE and MOCVD manufacturing processes; expertise in gallium arsenide (GaAs) and indium phosphide (InP) material systems; and specialist design, test, metrology, and characterisation services, make the company the ideal supply partner for a wide range of commercial and academic, photonics projects, where fast turnaround manufacture is critical and high consumer-level volumes are not required.
Professor Richard Hogg, Chief Technical Officer at III-V Epi, said, “III-V Epi’s focus on speed to market and our extensive experience in MBE and MOCVD epitaxial growth in both GaAs and InP, sparked huge interest at Photonics West. We clearly met the needs of many commercial and academic visitors, having already received enquiries for photonics manufacturing solutions in red to mid infra-red wavelengths. These are for new and emerging applications in AI, augmented reality, telecoms, datacoms, biomedical, defence, lidar, space, and intelligent imaging.
“Photonics West provided a great forum for face-to-face meetings, where customer requirements can be established and discussed, and where our manufacturing and support services can be easily explained. We also joined other UK photonics businesses at a welcome breakfast held by the British Consulate-General in San Francisco, where the US was keen to show its pro-active political, commercial, and economic support for UK companies.”
